News of Tonight with Lee Seung Gi in Malaysia on November 2, 2012 was just announced.
Due to a certain circumstance I don’t think I’d be able to go this time. How depressing.. đŚ
Whatever happened to the normal fan who just buy her idol’s albums and watch his TV dramas? I’ve certainly come a long way after finishing the drama that got me into him, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. Lee Seung Gi. I must admit I started liking him in that drama because he’s too adorable. He’s one friggin talented man. An all-around entertainer – singer, actor and host. I bought his current album that time, Shadow Repackaged, and eventually fell in love with his songs. But when I started watching 1N2D I swear there was no turning back. Since then I have wanted to come to Korea because of him, learn Hangeul because of him, appreciate Korean culture because of him. At one point I even wanted to become a Korean just like him. When it was announced that he was having a December concert in Seoul, I did everything in my power to come to that concert. And of course I did. I even learned a bit of Hangeul beforehand to prepare myself for a non-English speaking country. I was a bit scared going to a new country for the first time, since tabs would not be able to accompany me. So I tagged my sister along so I would not be walking the streets of Seoul alone. I could not fully express the happiness I felt when I laid first step at the airport. So this must be the same air Seunggi was breathing. ^^
The concert was daebak! Seeing Seunggi for the first time was exhilarating. I’ve only seen him on TV before. I took several pictures and videos, not understanding that it was prohibited. Too late when a security personnel warned me, I already had half of the concert on my memory card. It was kind of sneaky, but I was proud of it. I even completed his previous albums on that Seoul trip.
After his fifth album Tonight came out, a couple of months later his drama, King 2 Hearts was aired. When it ended I felt a bit sad, maybe because he was not always available on TV anymore, what with him quitting both of his popular variety shows, 1N2D and Strong Heart. His common activities became CF and magazine shoots, fansignings and his concert in Japan. His more recent activity was becoming a torchbearer in the London Olympics.
And so one could not fully imagine how thrilled I was when news about his Singapore fanmeet broke out. And what was totally shocking was how it fell on the same date as my family trip. He held a press conference a day before his fanmeet which I was also able to witness. Watching Seunggi so close is unbelievable. He looked lovelier. His face too small and his smile too charming. He was a great conversationalist, as always. He tried his best speaking in English and it was so impressive for a Korean. He’s just too perfect. Too good to be true.
The fanmeeting itself was unforgettable, too. He interacted actively with us and sang 8 songs. We had very good seats, but too bad taking photos was not allowed. There was a group picture-taking with Seunggi for every group of 30s, and Ate was so lucky to have touched his hand! I was contented seeing his beautiful face up close, such a mystery that a creature like him existed. It was a breathtaking experience.
Last year, I was keen on going to his concert because I thought maybe it would be the last time I would get too involved with an artist, and I really wanted to experience something like it, thinking maybe I would get too old and tired this year. But it was just announced that he will hold another one again on December, and after that SG fanmeet I’m not sure if I could still hold back. I’m trying my best to become a normal fan as I could. But god I think I’m going to lose it, that I’d be one heck of a crazy fan. I must go to this concert, and fulfill my duty as a true and supportive fan. I never would have thought that I still have the energy to fangirl at my age. It was still Moffatts when I had this kind of energy, some 14 years ago. ^^
My life now is never complete without my daily fix of Seunggi. Listening to his music, looking at his photos and constantly updating myself news about him. He’s too inspiring, he has accomplished so much at such a young age. Maybe that’s why he has a lot of ahjumma fans and even fanboys, too. I maybe selfish saying this, but I hope he doesn’t marry, or serve in the military just yet. I’m still enjoying him right now, and I know many others still are. Â When the time comes I hope he marries a girl that he deserves, and like a true fan, I hope I would still be able to support him and give my love.
Couldn’t believe how Maroon 5’s concert for September 18 is running out of tickets already. I just read their status in Fb the other day promoting their show. Good thing I went to Ticketnet yesterday, otherwise maybe I would not be able to go. Initially I planned on purchasing Upper A reserve for 3,7k per ticket but it was full already. The lady offered the 7k+ Patron, because there were only 2 seats left but they weren’t even adjacent! So I ended up buying the Upper B free seating for 2,650 each instead. What the hell, are people buying in bulk? It wasn’t even 3 days when ticketing opened! And the concert is a good two and half months away. Don’t tell me they have to extend another night just like what Ne-Yo did way back. Why not Arena instead? Now, I have to come ahead of time to grab good seats! đ
Looking at the photos of SG bearing the Olympic torch at Manchester made me one very happy and proud fan!
He looked so cool running with his bright yellow nike sneakers. Chance that I love yellow nowadays. ^^
I read somewhere that torchbearers were supposed to be an ex-olympian or a popular figure of the hosting country. In this case, he is neither. But who cares. Samsung is a major sponsor of the Olympics and they chose him as the representative.
He really is very popular everywhere. Even in Poland where he stopped by first to watch a soccer game, fans flocked in the airport to welcome him. And mind you, not korean ones but europeans! Hope he had a lovely stay in europe.
Can’t wait to see him again in singapore!
This would be my 2nd time finishing another drama for this year, Secret Garden. I know, its so 2010, but after I got hooked on Lsg last year I wasn’t able to watch anything but him, his dramas and tv shows. I was really curious about this drama, and my sister was crazy about this. This is a fantasy romantic drama which tells the story of one of the elite in the society, president of Loel Department Store Kim Joo Won falling in love with a mere stuntwoman, Gil Ra Im. They accidentally met when Kim mistook Gil as the lead actress from whom she is the double. From then on, Kim followed her everywhere, kinda like stalking her, and started falling madly in love with her. To the point that he was willing to give up everything; his wealth, position, and more importantly, his mother who despised Gil to her core. What complicates it more is that something unimaginable happened to them where they switch bodies every time it rains.
I love dramas with this kind of characters; a wealthy guy falling in love with a poor girl, poor girl resists at first but falls back without admitting, incredulously hating mother, pitiful 2nd choice lover.. sounds too BOF, don’t ya think? Couldn’t help but notice the similarities, but I think I like this Kim Joo Won over Gu Jun Pyo. Joowon literally followed Raim everywhere she went, doing everything for her, even risked his life for her. I’m thinking Edward Cullen. And tell me, who in the world would not fall for a guy like that? He was very intelligent, normally obnoxious and conceited, a typical pain in the arse kind. But around Raim he totally gets lovesick and do mushy stuff. He accepted her as she is, her humble home, her dangerous job, her kickass attitude.. He fell hard, and it wasn’t easy. In fact, I think it would be the most difficult if the one you love is intensely disliked by someone you wish she would also love, your own mother. So it just sucked that situations like these happen, mother goes to poor girl condemning her, tearing her down at her own house, throwing her vast amount of money, telling her to get lost and leave her son alone. Such drama. Why do parents always have to get in the middle of things? They are not always right, in my opinion. They say they know how it feels, when they really don’t. Elders, middle age, young age.. they don’t feel the same. You have to get past that age to really understand. They have the right to say, but they don’t have the right to control your life, more so, dictate who you choose to love. Its your feelings, not theirs.
The fact that even when Joowon temporarily lost his memory, he was still attracted to her, and couldn’t resist following her around. There must be really something with this woman. What moved me the most was the part when Raim got into an accident and was comatose for a couple of months. Joowon took her out of Seoul into the rain so they could switch bodies and she could live. He must be crazy, but the guy really was just in love. And the most overwhelming part for me was when he passionately kissed her in front of so many guests at his party. He was not afraid revealing his real feelings to the world. His initial object-of-playing-around-at-the-moment which I could tell is real, eventually turned into unconditional love.
Is it really true that playing hard to get to a man who likes you increases that man’s feelings for you? In this case, yes. Despite her resistance and numerous attempts to ignore this man, Joowon fell harder for her. Thats why even though she tries to deny it, she has also developed feelings for him. And how could you not? Joowon ultimately turned down her wicked mother when he decided to marry her. Ahh it was such a fairy tale indeed. Swoons.
And the kissing scenes! Couldn’t help exclaiming holy guacamole on their wedding night. Ahahaha, I must not be the only one with perverted mind. They seriously should have extended the scene more. ^^
There are two of my favorite swoon worthy parts. First, when the two were left in Joowon’s resort and he went all over hugging her as she resists, his face inches from her, lovingly looking at her. I can’t get enough of that scene. And second, at the last ep, when they were showing their daily activities together as married couple. Raim was doing sit ups and Joowon tried to catch her lips everytime to kiss her. So sweet.
Overall, I love it. I’m not sure if something like this still happens in real world. The fantasy, of course not. But the love story, though sounds too good to be true, I hope yes. Really, love is so unpredictable. It is too powerful that it changes you. It happens to everyone, only in different forms. Everyone has a love story, and this is probably one of the best. đ
..thinking bout how my SGD$420 PayPal payment went..
Please, let me receive an immediate confirmation, and let us have the best seats! Jebal!
Who in the world knew that this is going to happen? This was only a rumor a week ago, and hours earlier today, it was confirmed by the promoter. When I learned the exact date of the fanmeet I thought I was going to pass out. August 25 in Singapore. Nothing seemed so special about that date. But dig this. Back in February I booked an SG flight for my family on August 24-26. How.In.The.World.Did.That.Happen? I made my booking early this year, and now you’re telling me LSG is going to have a fanmeeting on the very same date? I was stunned when I learned the news. My mouth was literally hanging from disbelief. What a coincidence! What pure luck! I must have saved an entire country from my previous life. ^^ I really don’t mind spending again if the date didn’t fall on our trip. But of course having it on the same date is so much.. cheaper, and totally bewildering.
I immediately emailed the promoter and good thing they replied after a few hours. They sent me the ticket sale process, and I have to do telegraphic transfer again to have the Cat 1 seats, the most expensive and of course, the nearest seats. Don’t these guys ever knew how to use PayPal? Just when I thought SG is a modern country.. It seems I have to go through the same arduous process of telegraphic transfer like I did in his official fan club membership. Ok, I did not mean to complain. I really can’t have it all, can I?
But LSG in SG! Goodness, I’m still in a daze. I’ve been there several times, but this one I swear will be the most memorable trip to this country. My teenage hormones are killing me. Sooo excited to fangirl! Now please, do not cancel! đ
You know the sentiments I had earlier with Metrodeal? It completely vanished when the concert started. We were given very good seats. To think that these seats costs half the price more, had I not purchased this deal. Anyway, this is my first time entering SM Arena, and if I’m not mistaken, NKOTBSB would be the second performers of this newly constructed dome. SM opened this just merely 2 weeks ago, with its construction going on 24/7 to meet its deadline: Lady Gaga’s concert. Anyway, I won’t go on how SM does its projects, but inside Arena, SM seems to be very obvious. It is a little high against its land area, with numerous seats, mass produced. Reminds me a lot of their condominiums. Unlike Araneta which is expansive. Anyway I think what impressed me most is the lighting. Or was it because the concert has good production? Honestly, I decided to come to this concert because I was a huge fan in highschool, thinking it would be regretful if I let this one pass by. I came to pay my respect, for old times sake. I used to love their music even though they’re generally stereotyped by many. And I still do. I still have all their albums on my iTunes and I listen to them every now and then. And so it was such a rush seeing them again. Him especially. Nicholas Gene Carter. Or just plain Nick Carter. The tall, blonde guy who made just about every teener’s hormones go out of their own system in the 90s, including myself. Seeing Nick again, somehow feels like its that decade again. That I’m 15 again, screaming, giggling, singing along to his songs out loud. Funny how Nick still has that effect on ladies, now mostly my age or older. He was very vibrant, very energetic, to the point that he seemed to have lost it. Haha, I guess thats really his performing style. The part where each of them has to pick one of the ladies in the audience drove us wild and envious. AJ and Brian both pick older women, Howie picked a fan with a placard that says “I ⤠u howie d. pick me”, and Nick, well, really took his time out choosing carefully. He came up on stage with a model-like body, Sam Pinto kind of face, and I was like, what the hell? How did he ever find this girl in this crowd? Pretty impressive. Sighs. And the way they serenaded the ladies with “I’ll never break your heart”, with his teasing face inches from hers, almost kissing her. Holy shit. He looked so damn good. Though he got fatter (hehe), with wrinkles visible on his face, but god, he still looked so good. I kept taking snaps of him, but darn how he always faces the other side (where he got the girl), so I’ve no really decent shot of him. The other guys were amazing as well, and sang most of their more popular songs. 10,000 Promises was one of the less popular song they sang, and I loved how beautiful and powerful their voices blended on the bridge part. Quit playing games, Shape of my heart and Incomplete were the songs I’ve anticipated the most and they performed it well. Their entrance song, Larger than life, were collaborated with NKOTB with a different mix. And I love The Call song! We got it goin, get  down, all i have to give, as long as you love me, drowning, show me the meaning of being lonely, i want it that way.. They did not missed out on their hits. And of course, Backstreet’s back for the encore. Same thing went for NKOTB, they sang their hits though I couldn’t help feeling a bit sorry for them, BSB clearly owned the house that night. I also made it a point to rest after BSB performed and its NKOTB’s turn. I liked a couple of their songs, but honestly, I just felt they’re too old for this kind of stage. Dancing like a boyband and showing off their bodies. They should be doing more laid back stuff, more vocals, less activity, in my opinion. I mean, they’re mid 40s right? Maybe they’re still trying to keep up with BSB. Jordan knight stood out of course. Wow that I’ll be loving you forever number. Anyway, I’ve no idea that this is the last leg of their Asian Tour. Maybe that’s why theres goofing at the end, conversing and joking with each other like they’re in a rehearsal studio. Last perf ended with too much confetti the scene was moving. Manila must be so lucky tonight. Wonder when would I see another night like this again. But one thing I’m sure, I swear, I have aged 15 years younger tonight. đ
As of this writing, I’ve been standing for the Metrodeal line for the past hour. You see, I bought a very good deal from them, 3,699 instead of 7,920 for a Lower Box seat for the NKOTBSB concert for today, June 3. I was just browsing thru sites yesterday when I spotted this deal. I knew that BSB was coming but I’ve no idea when. So I was a bit startled when I realized that the concert is scheduled for today. I mean, so much for having time to decide, right? The ticket is not cheap, even for half its price. But early this morning I’ve finally convinced Tabs to watch, since you’ve no idea how I was a huge sucker for this boyband back in highschool. I just couldn’t let this one pass me by, even though its not their solo concert. I wasn’t really an NKOTB fan, I was too young when they got really popular. But I have an idea of their music and have seen some of their perfomances together on youtube, and I can say, they blend well.
Going back to Metrodeal, I think they haven’t prepared for this well enough. Their guys here said they are unsure what time the tickets would come. Now what irritates me right this moment is how come they’re here, and not the tickets? They’ve propped up chairs and their laptop outside and we’ve been waiting for an hour and half already. They keep on apologizing but thats not what we need. We need the friggin tickets. I can see Tabs sitting on the side, looking very tired and restless, since he still came after duty. We even planned earlier to watch a movie first, since theres supposed to be a good 4 hours before the concert starts at 8. I feel like I’m a diehard fan still, what with coming here more than 4 hours before the concert, you know the idol stalker highschooler kind of type, only I’m not here to stalk or get in backstage, I’m just here to claim the tickets. I’m getting restless, too. Standing for a while can get really tiring, and I’m having back problems if I get really tired. Now until what time are we going to wait? I guess we just have to wait and see. Even Tabs predicted earlier that Metrodeal could end up having a problem, since they’ve had similar complaints with their deals recently. Maybe thats the price I have to pay for the discount I got. To top it off, it kinda looks like rain. I’m not sure if I would deal this way again. đŚ
